Sustainably Chic: Pretty in Pink

Welcome to Sustianably Chic, a series where we put fashionable outfits together based on entirely sustainable and eco-friendly brands. This Wednesday, we are wearing pink. Tell the winter sadness to go away with these eco-friendly outfits sporting something pink and fun. As per usual, at least one outfit will be made from entirely animal free products for our vegan readers. Enjoy!

Bag 1: Vogue Midnight Blue Leather Hobo On Sale!

First up we have an upcycled leather hobo bag that’s always in vogue. Sturdy and spacious enough to carry everything you need in a day and designed with a classic look that can be dressed up or down as you please. Also comes with a detachable shoulder strap for the days you want to mix things up.

For the outfit we decided to highlight an adorable cashmere sweater you’ll cherish every winter all winter long. Yes, we said cashmere, as the company Naadam is working hard to make one of the most un-sustainable supply chains into one of the most sustainable and ethical out there. Our pink for the day comes from a gorgeous skirt by thought clothing that complements the bag perfectly. We rounded out the outfit with boots by Sydney Brown and a fun earring and necklace combo from soko jewelry. 

Bag 2: Story Bag Boho Emerald 

For our next bag we showcase how upcycling brings out the story in everything we wear. The Story bag is made from an upcycled Saree and is therefore a completely unique design. Sarees are wrap dresses that function similarly to bridesmaid dresses and other special occasion outfits, and so by upcycling them, we’ve given these beautiful textiles a chance to live on in a way that honors the beauty and uniqueness of the dress while breathing new life into its use.

Outfit 2

For the outfit, we knew we needed something as wonderful as the saree bag, and so we went with this gorgeous faux fur jacket from Karen Kane. With pink Veja vegan shoes to match there is no way this outfit could go wrong. We’ve completed the look with jeans from Everlane and a cute tencel cardigan from reformation, for an overall french-chic feel with a colorful twist.
